  Glaucoma Treatment

  Cataract Surgery

  While other methods like phacoemulsification and extracapsular cataract extraction can be used to remove cataracts, our doctors at Maynor & Mitchell Eye Center in Huntsville, AL, can perform cataract surgery using lasers. Laser cataract surgery provides more precise, accurate results than extracapsular extraction and phacoemulsification. Our Huntsville optometrist office uses the CATALYS® laser, which features the INTEGRAL GUIDANCE System™. This creates 3D images of the patient's eyes before and during surgery so our doctors can provide the best possible results.   LASIK

  Each eye has a cornea, a clear outer layer at the front, that focuses light to create images on the retina. The bending and focusing of light through the cornea is known as refraction. Oftentimes, refraction is not ideal due to issues with the shape of the cornea or eye. Refractive errors lead to myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism, which respectively cause nearsightedness, farsightedness, and overall blurred vision. During LASIK surgery, corneal tissue is removed and the cornea is reshaped through the use of a special laser. This allows patients to obtain near-perfect vision without the need for any glasses or contacts.
